How about we post how long we have been playing FFXI, what got you into playing FFXI in the first place, and maybe a brief intro?

I'll start:

Ive been playing for about 4 months now, still learning as quickly as I can. Aikar is actually the one who got me to start playing in the first place. As for a bit about myself.. Im a PC Repair Tech, and Web programmer.

well, i started playing this character in april 2007 i think? damn, feels like its been a long time. but before Aeneas, I was Chronus on Garuda from the NA launch, and then later Gamaliel on Garuda. I never got past the 30s on either character, and i didnt play drg back then...i couldnt figure out what to do! on gamaliel, i think i got up to 38 pld.

i played both of those characters during college, and had to quit after some time. OH, i remember i quit Gamaliel after i got sick on PL parties. just plain sick of the way the player base was going with PLs and such. hmm...i made a post on this in the alla forums...lemme see if i can dig it up...

all around lvl 13-14. we were owning stuff. i was tanking stuff quite well and doing great damage. i would be doing fusion chains with the JP thf, and the smn would MB with ifrit. WITH THE DAMN SUMMON! holy crap! we were killing crabs left and right. then i died on accident, and HP'd then i came back, aggrod the sand bats...ok no problem, but then there was a leecher in the way. aggrod that, died again. well crap, oh well. died twice...ill get the exp back quick with this uber pt. well now we return to fight crabs and soon aggro another leecher, and we run away and zone to selbina.

now heres the meat of my story and how it pertains to this thread. somewhere in this process of zoning to selbina, the german picks up a PL. he says its his girlfriend, and i see they have the same linkshell colors next to their names. as we are running out to the beach, this german thf desides to pull a beach pugil (remember we are lvl 13-14). we are swinging away, doing zero dmg sometimes, while this pl is healing us. the smn decides to do astral flow, thank god, or we would have all died, or been fighting it ALL DAY. so the pugil dies. after this i see the JP's all talking with "PL" in between their japanese characters. then the german runs away with his PL girlfriend, and shortly after the brd leaves the party. this moron german thf went up to our previous camp to solo crabs with his PL while we were still partied together. he didnt even say anything, just ran off with the PL. GOOD JOB FOOL, you just ruined a perfectly good party that was rolling in some good exp, and i was getting close to 15 where i could use my republic knuckles! i wanted to kill this stupid galka german thf for ruining our party! im almost certain the brd left because we got a PL, because he disbanded and went seeking again, and we were doing *GREAT* before the PL arrived. shortly after the german thf left us (without even asking, just ran away) the JP leader decided to disband, and that was the end!

Thats it! im never partying with a PL again! not after this crap gets pulled on me!

i no longer play XI but i had played a few years, started back in summer of 2004 with aikar and some other rl friends. i eventually had a 75 blm/whm but i got rid of the account when i first quit the game than i made a new one that only got up to a 50 pld/war. but am planning to try and join the beta of 14 when it opens up if at all possible lol.

Jemi and myself needed something to do, the game had been out for some time now and i remember my friends had played it on NA release, and remembered some stuff about it. Upon further discussion we thought we would pick it up "for a couple of months" and as you can see those couple of months spiraled into years and now i lead this ls and do endgame and have loads of friends. lol.
